IDA event in Dubai

UA WEST Center connected with the international community during the 2019 International Desalination Association (IDA) World Congress.  Held in Dubai, UAE from Oct. 20 - 24, the Congress brought together professionals, scholars, leaders, and technicians engaged in advanced water treatment solutions.  With "Crossroads to Sustainability" a theme for this gathering, the biennial IDA World Congress is a globally recognized event in the field of advanced water treatment specifically related to desalination and water reuse.  The 2019 event was graciously hosted by the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) at the Dubai World Trade Center, and the opening VIP ceremony featured dignitaries and VIPs from around the world.

The busy event program included plenary panel speakers, keynote addresses, training offerings, networking opportunities, a Leaders Summit, and bustling exhibitor space.  With greater understanding and future partnership a goal, WEST connected with World Congress attendees in the exhibitor hall and elsewhere.

In addition to participation in the IDA international event, WEST is collaborating with IDA as the host of the 2019 IDA Fellowship Program.  Selected fellow, Dr. Jaichander Swaminathan, will tour Arizona during a statewide survey of water and wastewater facilities, and conduct research with faculty at WEST Center.  The six week fellowship runs November - December, 2019.
