WEST and YCEDA students present at ENViSion Symposium
The annual ENViSion Research Symposium was held on March 21, 2024 at the University of Arizona’s ENR2 building. The event, which is part of the University’s EarthWeek (March 18th-22nd, 2024), is a Department of Environmental Science (ENVS) student-run research symposium. Both oral presentations and posters showcased the research produced by ENVS students at the event. The day also provided opportunities for networking, collaboration, and sharing scientific knowledge with the broader community.
This year’s program was comprised of morning and afternoon presentations and posters, with the latter including contributions from Lois Polashenski (PhD student) from the Water & Energy Sustainable Technology Center (WEST), and Jasmine Miranda (MS student) from the Yuma Center of Excellence for Desert Agriculture (YCEDA). Both individuals are essential staff at their respective laboratories and are part of a larger UArizona collaborative wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) team. Their posters were entitled:
- Lois Polashenski: Development of Wastewater-Based Epidemiology Methods for Detection of Candida auris
- Jasmine Miranda: Seasonal Variation in Relative Abundance in Yuma, Arizona
More details about their research, and the contributions of others, can be found in the ENViSion Program and ENViSion Schedule of Presenters below.
Congratulations to ENVS students for their great efforts at the 2024 ENViSion event!
