During the week of October 9 - 13, 2018, the University of Arizona hosted delegations from Mexico's Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and Israel's Ben Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) as part of a trilateral collaboration on technology commercialization and research between the three universities. The main focus of the engagement with both UNAM and BGU has been to identify potential areas of collaboration in both technology commercialization (early stage companies) and collaborative research.

With water technologies a main area of interest for all three institutions, a visit to the WEST Center was a highly anticipated part of the visit.  On October 11, WEST Center hosted the group from Mexico and Israel and offered a tour of the cutting-edge facility.  WEST staff explained the working relationship with Pima County and other Industry Partner, and researchers were available to speak with delegates.  The group discussed possible collaboration; delegates and UA representatives hope to find ways to work together to advance understanding and water safety, security, and sustainability.
