Water Reclamation Campus

A) The University of Arizona WEST Center consists of three areas: 

i) Administrative complex:
  • offices
  • conference rooms
  • student study areas
ii) Laboratory Complex:
  • Molecular Lab
  • Microbiology Lab
  • Real-time Sensor Lab
  • Aquatic Toxicology Lab
  • Advanced  Water Treatment Lab
  • Emerging Contaminant Lab (on UA campus)
iii) Hi Bay complex:
  • Intermediate-scale treatment trains for advanced treatment of reclaimed waters and effluent
     

B) The Pima County Wastewater Laboratory Building

This houses all of the laboratories required for testing and analysis of wastewater, reclaimed waters and biosolids


 

C) The Pima County 21st Century Wastewater Reclamation Facility: Agua Nueva

This unique plant was commissioned in January 2014 and utilizes dissolved air flotation for primary treatment and a Bardenpho process for nutrient removal. It also has plumbed in lines to supply waters and effluents of variable quality to the WEST Cener.
